TPA’s vision is to become a classical leadership academy that develops the unique strengths of each of its students. TPA will offer not only better academic performance to surrounding schools but also a differentiated learning environment through leadership development and college preparation. This culture will be fostered even further at TPA by having a teacher student ratio at approximately 16 students for every 1 teacher.

The need for the TPA approach to the gifts and talents of each student is foundational to all transformational strengths-based leadership education. It is based on its unique mission, vision and strategy in developing students, parents, teachers and administrators to their full potential, above and beyond immediate and necessary roles in academic success. In the surrounding north Mecklenburg County schools, while there is an academic emphasis for select students identified as gifted students according to North Carolina state law for K-12 (AIG) students, there are no schools which are based on dedicated, proven research that all students have gifts and talents that can be systematically developed as researched and established by both The Gallup Organization and Dr. Stephen R. Covey as further detailed below. The TPA Preparatory Academy approach to the gifts and talents of each student is foundational to all transformational strengths-based leadership education.
